All locationsMost builders treat the Business Profile as a formality they filled in once. It is usually the highest-return local asset they own and the most neglected.
A Google Business Profile is what decides whether your sales office appears when someone searches for property in your corridor, and it is also where the phone number and star rating in AI answer cards come from. The three things that decide how well it performs are a correct primary category, a name, address and phone number written identically everywhere, and a steady flow of genuine reviews.

Buyers searching on a phone near your corridor see a map pack before they see any website. That block of three listings takes the majority of the clicks, and a project website cannot appear in it. Only a Business Profile can.
There is a second reason that has become more important this year. When someone asks an AI assistant for the best real estate agency or developer in a city, the card it shows pulls the phone number, the rating and the category straight from the Business Profile. If those fields are empty on your profile, your card renders blank next to competitors who filled theirs in.
The primary category does more work than anything else on the profile. Pick the one that matches what you actually are, then add secondary categories for the rest.
Do not stuff keywords into the business name. Google's guidelines ask for the real-world business name, and a name edit or a suspension is a bad trade for a small ranking bump.
Name, address and phone number need to be written identically on your Business Profile, on your website, and on every directory that lists you. Not similar. Identical, character for character.
We found this on our own site in September 2026 and it is worth describing because it is so easy to miss. Our schema carried one street address, the visible footer on nearly four hundred pages carried a shorter version of the same address, the Business Profile carried a third spelling, and three agency directories carried a completely different building. The website was fine. The signal was not, because Google had four candidate answers and no reason to prefer any of them.
If you do one thing after reading this, open your profile, your website footer and two directories side by side and read the address out loud from each. Any difference is worth fixing this week. How we handle local SEO for Jaipur real estate.
An empty plot photographed from a distance is the most common cover image on builder profiles and the least useful. Buyers are checking whether you are real.
Google Posts appear inside the profile itself. One a week is enough: a new phase, a price update, a progress milestone, a market note. If you publish a corridor report or a market update, that is a post.
The questions section accepts questions from anyone, which means a competitor or a confused buyer can set the tone. Seed it yourself with the six questions your sales team answers every day: where exactly is the site, what is the price band, what approvals are in place, what are the plot sizes, is a home loan tie-up available, when is possession.
A rating only appears once you have genuine reviews, and the count is visible to every buyer comparing you with the next listing. There is no shortcut here that is worth taking.
For brokers and dealers the profile matters even more, because it is usually the first asset that produces enquiries without any ad spend at all.
Yes, if there is a staffed office buyers can visit. The map pack takes most of the clicks on local property searches and only a Business Profile can appear in it. It is also where AI answer cards get your phone number and rating from.
Real estate developer as primary, with Property developer and Real estate agency as secondary categories where they genuinely apply. Pick what you actually are rather than what has the most searches, because a mismatched category weakens every other signal.
Almost always because the phone field on the Business Profile is empty, and because nothing on the website corroborates a number either. Add the number to the profile, and make sure the same number appears in your website schema and footer.
Enough to sit alongside the listings you compete with, which usually means at least a few dozen. The count matters less than that they are genuine, recent, and replied to. Buying reviews gets them removed and risks a suspension.
Only if it is the real-world name of that office. Adding keywords to the name is against Google guidelines and can trigger a name edit or a suspension, which costs more than the ranking it buys.
