Short answer: most Indian businesses pay between ₹10,000 and ₹50,000 per month for ongoing local SEO, with the majority of small and mid-size businesses landing in the ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 band. One-time setup work - a Google Business Profile build, citation cleanup, a website fix - is usually quoted separately. But the monthly figure on its own tells you almost nothing. What matters is the scope behind it and what a single new customer is worth to you. Here is how local SEO pricing actually works in India.
What you are actually paying for
Local SEO is a program, not a one-off task. A genuine monthly engagement covers most of the following:
- Google Business Profile (GBP) optimization - the single biggest lever for "near me" and map-pack rankings. Categories, services, photos, posts, Q&A and attributes, kept active every month.
- Citations and NAP consistency - your Name, Address and Phone listed identically across Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMART, Google, Bing and industry directories.
- Review generation and management - the strongest local ranking and trust signal there is, plus replies to every review.
- Local landing pages and content - service and area pages that match what nearby buyers actually search.
- On-page and technical SEO - titles, schema (LocalBusiness), site speed and mobile usability.
- Local link building - mentions and links from relevant local and industry sites.
- Reporting and strategy - rankings, calls, direction requests and leads, reviewed by a senior strategist.
When you compare two quotes, compare scope first. A ₹8,000 plan that only "manages your profile" is not the same product as a ₹30,000 plan building review velocity, local pages and links. Cheaper is not better value if it cannot move you into the map pack.
Local SEO pricing tiers in India (2026)
Real-world monthly ranges by business size and competition:
| Tier | Monthly range | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹10,000 - ₹18,000 | Single-location small business, one city, low competition |
| Growth | ₹18,000 - ₹35,000 | Competitive city, multiple services, serious lead targets |
| Multi-location | ₹35,000 - ₹50,000+ | Several branches or cities, each needing its own profile and pages |
Metro markets like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad sit at the higher end of each band because competition is fierce. A clinic in a tier-2 city can win the map pack for far less than a clinic in a metro.
One-time costs vs monthly retainer
Two things get billed differently. Setup and fixes - building or rebuilding the GBP, cleaning up wrong citations, fixing a slow or non-mobile site - are usually one-time charges of ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 depending on the mess. Ongoing local SEO is the monthly retainer above. Be wary of anyone who promises map-pack rankings with zero monthly work; local rankings decay without fresh reviews, posts and content.
Why cheap local SEO usually costs more
Plans under ₹8,000 a month exist, but they almost always mean one of three things: spun or duplicate content that risks a penalty, fake or incentivised reviews that Google now filters and can suspend your profile for, or simply nothing happening after month one. The cost is not the fee - it is the lost months and the cleanup. A focused mid-range program that does the fundamentals well beats a cheap plan that quietly does nothing. The ROI: what is one customer worth?
Pricing only makes sense next to value. A dentist, lawyer, salon, real estate agent or coaching centre each have a customer worth thousands - sometimes lakhs - over their lifetime. If a ₹25,000-a-month program brings even three or four extra customers a month from the map pack, the math is rarely close. The right question is not "what does local SEO cost?" but "what is one new customer worth, and how many will ranking locally bring me?"

Should you do it yourself or hire an agency?
Every business should handle the basics in-house: claim the Google Business Profile, keep hours and details accurate, and ask happy customers for reviews. That alone puts you ahead of many competitors. But ranking in a competitive city, building review velocity consistently, producing local content and earning local links is where a specialist local SEO company earns its fee. If you would rather see exactly what it costs for your city and goals before deciding, our pricing is transparent, shown in your currency, and comes with no lock-in - and the next post on how to choose the right local SEO company will help you compare any proposal you receive.
