The map pack: three slots, decided mostly outside your website
For anything with local intent, a clinic, a restaurant, a showroom, a coaching centre, a law practice, the map pack sits above the organic results and takes most of the clicks. What gets you into it is largely not on your website. It is your Google Business Profile: the primary category you chose, the secondary categories, whether your service area is set sensibly, how many reviews you have and how recent they are, how complete the profile is, and whether your name, address and phone number match everywhere else on the internet.
This is also where the fastest wins usually sit, because the inputs are direct. A profile with the wrong primary category can be fixed in a day. A profile with four reviews against competitors who have forty is a different problem, and it takes months of asking customers properly. We wrote up the full process in our Google Business Profile optimisation guide and the map pack ranking guide, both free to read.
The organic results: where content and technical work pay off
Below the map pack is the organic list, and that is where a page has to earn its place by answering the query better than the pages already there. Two things decide whether it can. First, can Google crawl and understand the page, which is the technical layer. Second, does the page actually address what the searcher wanted, which is the content layer.
The technical layer is where we find the most damage on Jaipur sites we audit. Truncated or duplicated title tags across hundreds of pages. Pages left noindexed after a redesign. A migration that dropped its redirects, so every old link now returns a 404. Thin pages published in bulk that pulled the whole domain down. None of these are exotic, and all of them are cheaper to fix than to work around. Our 17 reasons a website is not ranking covers the full checklist.
Ads: worth knowing about even if you only want SEO
The paid results sit above everything. We mention them for one reason: the bid prices tell you what a click on that keyword is worth to someone who is paying cash for it. For SEO work in Jaipur, the commercial terms we track carry bids in the range of Rs 16 to Rs 94 per click. That is the number to hold a retainer against. If a keyword's clicks are worth Rs 30 and you can realistically get a few hundred a month from it, you know what the work is worth before you commit to it.
How we run an SEO engagement
The sequence matters more than the list. Content published onto a broken technical base does not rank, and a perfect technical base with nothing to say does not either.
Month one: diagnose before proposing
We start with a crawl and a Search Console review rather than a package. The point is to find out whether your problem is technical, whether it is content, whether it is the profile, or whether you are ranking fine for terms nobody searches. That last one is common and it is the most expensive to get wrong, because the work looks successful in a report while producing no enquiries.
The output is a list of specific fixes in priority order, with the keywords we intend to target, their monthly search volume, and your current position for each. That baseline is what you hold us to later. You can get a smaller automated version of this yourself from our free SEO audit tool.
Months one to three: fix the foundation
Technical fixes first, because they are finite and they unblock everything else. Titles and meta descriptions that fit in a search result instead of being cut off. Index hygiene, so Google is not spending its crawl on pages that will never earn a click. Internal links pointed at the pages that are supposed to rank rather than spread evenly across everything. Structured data where it genuinely applies. Core Web Vitals where the template is the bottleneck.
In parallel, the Google Business Profile work, because it runs on its own timeline and the results arrive sooner.
Months two onward: content against validated demand
We do not write to a content calendar invented in a meeting. Every page we commit to has a Keyword Planner volume behind it, and we will show you the figure. If a topic has no measurable search volume, it may still be worth writing for your sales process, but we will not call it an SEO deliverable or count it toward ranking work.
What this looks like in practice: head terms get a substantial page that fully covers the subject, supporting questions get their own pages that link back to it, and the whole set is interlinked so authority concentrates rather than scattering. Our guides on building topical authority and internal linking set out the method we use on our own site.
Throughout: reporting you can check independently
Reports come from Search Console and Analytics, which are your accounts, not ours. That means every number in a report is one you can verify yourself. We report positions against the baseline set in month one, impressions and clicks by query, and which specific pages moved. Rank tracking screenshots from a tool you cannot log into are not evidence.
The Jaipur industries where SEO works differently
Jewellery and handicraft exporters
Jaipur is an export city, and for an exporter the Jaipur map pack is irrelevant. The buyers are in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Gulf, searching in their own markets with sourcing intent rather than retail intent. The work is international targeting, product and collection page SEO, and content that answers questions a wholesale buyer asks. Completely different scope from a local business, and often a better return, because a single buyer relationship is worth a great deal more than a single walk-in.
Real estate and property
Our largest practice. Property search in Jaipur has its own vocabulary, starting with the fact that plots are quoted in bigha and gaj rather than square feet, and buyers search in those units. It is also the one vertical where advertising is legally constrained, because RERA governs what a project advertisement may claim. We have built out a full real estate SEO practice for Jaipur and a set of free land and cost calculators that this audience searches for directly.
Tourism, hotels and hospitality
Seasonal, and the seasonality has to be planned for rather than reacted to. Demand builds before the season, which means the content and the profile work has to be finished before the searches start. Ranking in December for a query that peaks in October is a wasted year. Reviews matter more here than almost anywhere else.
Coaching institutes and education
Highly local, highly seasonal around admission cycles, and heavily influenced by reviews and parent discussion. The searches are often made by a parent rather than the student, which changes what the page needs to say. Kota and Jaipur both have dense competitive sets, so the winnable terms are usually more specific than the obvious ones.
Clinics, dentists and healthcare
Almost entirely a map pack game, driven by proximity, category accuracy and review volume. The organic layer matters for the conditions and procedures people research before they choose a clinic. Our healthcare local SEO checklist is the process we follow.
What this costs, honestly
Our SEO retainers start at Rs 14,999 per month for a single-location local business, where the scope is the Google Business Profile, the local pages and citation cleanup. Multi-location, ecommerce and export-facing work sits above that because both the technical surface and the content volume are larger. Full published ranges are on the pricing page, and we have written up the market rates more broadly in what SEO costs in India.
One caution on the low end. Quotes below Rs 10,000 a month in this market are generally automated directory submission and spun content. That does not move rankings, and the citation mess it creates is something you will later pay somebody to clean up. If the budget genuinely is under Rs 10,000, you will get more out of doing the Google Business Profile work yourself from our free guides than out of paying for that tier.
Before you hire anyone
These are the questions we would want asked of us, and the answers you get will separate the field quickly.
- Which keywords, specifically, and what is the monthly search volume for each? Ask for the source.
- What is my position on those keywords today? Without a baseline, no later report means anything.
- What exactly happens in month one?
- Who writes the content, and can I see a sample in my industry?
- If I stop working with you, what happens to my pages and my Google Business Profile?
We have written this out at more length in how to choose a digital marketing agency, and if you would rather compare against doing it in house, that comparison is here.
